Helps to install Open Source data science platforms
Often recommended for beginners, people more comfortable with graphical interfaces than command lines, are package managers like Anaconda. They make it easier to create an environment with Python, R, Node.js and other platforms needed for data hacking.
Note that this is a free product for individual users, but not free for commercial use - if you need this for work, you may want to consider alternatives like Chocolatey on Windows, or cloud-based environments like Google Colab.

If you're concerned about hard disk space, there's also Miniconda, which comes without the fancy graphical interface.
