Outdoor tours - a recommender system
Develop a recommender system that helps prevent overbooking of tours.
As a web platform, outdooractive.com supports outdoor fans in their search for the perfect hiking route or helps them with the general planning of their outdoor leisure activities. In order to support its users even better, a kind of recommender system for tours is to be introduced. Occasionally, popular tours and Point of Interest (POIs) may be overcrowded. An intelligent recommender system is to remedy this situation and relieve such situations by proposing alternative activities and sights that qualify as “sustainable“ to interested participants. As a data basis for the development of such a system, tour data from www.opentourism.net is available to Hackaton participants.
