Optimizing PV usage in a turbulent time
Photovoltaic (PV) supply is time-dependent. Given the current geopolitical situation, there are large changes in the relative generation shares of fossil technologies, and this has impacts on both the environmental and economic costs of electricity from the grid. This project will use measured data from PV generation in the region of Brugg, and explore the possibilities of optimizing this clean electricity with dispatchable household loads and the use of batteries. Life cycle assessment will be used to assess the impacts of adding batteries or control electronics to make more household loads dispatchable.
